Ozark Women's Basketball Wins Their Fourth Consecutive MCCC Tournament

Ankeny, Iowa

The Ozark Christian College Women's Basketball team claimed their 4th consecutive MCCC Tournament Championship this past weekend in Ankeny, IA. 

The women entered the tournament as the #1 seed with a conference record of 10-0. Due to receiving a bye as the #1 seed, the ladies began play on Thursday versus Central Christian College of the Bible. They advanced to MCCC Championship game with a victory of 66-49 over the Saints of CCCB. 

In the MCCC Championship game they faced the #2 seed, Calvary University. In the two meetings prior, the Ambassadors had won 66-39 and 82-48. For the third matchup of the season, the Ambassadors were not able to pull away as quickly. They found themselves down 12-8 at the end of the 1st quarter and led 29-23 at halftime. They were able to extend their lead in the second half and finished the game with a 57-38 victory to claim the championship. They were led in scoring by Clarissa Rice with 11 points/ 10 rebounds, while Emmy Colin added 10 points/ 11 rebounds/ 3 assists/ and 3 steals. Reagan Etzel contributed 9 points and 5 rebounds. 

Along with winning the Championship, the ladies had five players receive Midwest Christian College All-Conference awards.

2nd Team - Kyndall Scott

Honorable Mention - Clarissa Rice
